The Problem:

Currently most tax links are installed as a single instance for a given financial application. Integration to the system requires knowledge of the financial application, the input/output structures and the TAX API. This can lead to slow integration and added maintenance as described below:

• The existing TAX input and output records require unique formatting per data type and fixed length input records
  
• Understanding the TAX structures and the format for each field is cumbersome and time consuming
  
• Each financial application requires its own instance of the tax system. This creates multiple audit files and complicates tax filing
  
• Each instance of the TAX API system will require routine tax table and jurisdiction updates adding to overall system maintenance.

The Solution:

TaxAutomation has developed a remote TAX API for simple integration of the Vertex® for Quantum, & eQuantum Sales & Use Tax System. This system allows a single TAX instance to serve as a tax link for multiple financial systems at one time. The benefits are highlighted below:
